Mona and Frank Arjava Peter

These are new and exciting techniques that have emerged from Japan in recent years. This is not another new form of Reiki but it is the way Reiki was originally, and in many cases still is, taught in Japan, following the direct teachings of Mikao Usui.

These techniques were developed by the founder, Mikao Usui, but which were never taught in the West, or were not passed on in any sort of coherent form. Thanks to many independent Reiki Masters who traced the true history of Usui Reiki in Japan, the Japanese Reiki techniques became available to the western world.

I had the opportunity to learn these directly from one of the first researchers of the authentic Reiki system, the world renowned Reiki Master and author of many Reiki books, Frank Arjava Petter (picture above). Having lived in Japan, he and his Japanese ex wife were one of the first to bring traditional Reiki directly from Japan to the western world. Because these techniques are very powerful and effective to any Reiki Practitioner, they help you improve your skills and broaden you Reiki practice.

Learn the Reiki exercises and techniques that were used and taught by Mikao Usui, but were not taught in the west.

Prerequisite: Reiki I and II

When Reiki came to the West via Hawayo Takata, many changes had been made. Reiki was modified and changed during its journey in the West, through Mrs Hawayo Takata, mainly because of the anti-Japanese mood in America at that time. These changes also include the story of Usui. Although many of the actual techniques of Reiki were passed to the West, most of the other healing techniques and meditation techniques were not passed on to Takata's students, although there is evidence that Takata was aware of at least some of them.

Learning the Japanese Reiki techniques is therefore an opportunity to obtain some missing techniques from the Reiki system and provides many ways in which your connection with Reiki may be strengthened and made more meaningful! These techniques are not intended as a replacement for the way you do Reiki now but provide a selection of extra ways you can use when the opportunity arises, knowing that what you are doing is still Reiki and not one of the many add-ons that have been added into Western Reiki by some Reiki masters.

This is your chance to learn and practice these powerful techniques
and incorporate them into your Reiki practice.
